Take a drive from Hoi An to Phong Nha by private car, enjoying scenic views and important landmarks along the way. After pickup from your hotel in Hoi An city center, head to Hai Van Pass, one of the most scenic hillside roads in Vietnam. On the top of the pass, see vestiges of an ancient fortified gateway. The American and French bunkers in Hai Van Pass provide views to the city without any steep climb. At the peak is a rest station where you can take a break and enjoy a coffee.
After that, stop at the bottom of Hai Van pass where you can have an overall view of the magnificent beauty of Lang Co Bay. Moreover, see the road leading to Hai Van tunnel, the longest tunnel in Vietnam.
Next, visit Lap An Lagoon, about 70 km from Hue city center. Lap An Lagoon is surrounded by verdant trees and full of crystal-clear water. See the locals living their daily lives in harmony with the nature around them.
Next, visit La Vang Church – the La Vang Holy Land or our Lady of La Vang Church, a well-known tourist attraction for tourists when traveling to Vietnam. Moreover, the church is famous for being a religious spot for people-especially Catholics, to worship, pilgrimage, and wish for the best in life.
Next, travel to Ben Hai bridge - Hien Luong river (DMZ - parallel 17th). During the Second Indochina War, Hien Luong Bridge and the Ben Hai River have been the “historical witnesses” of the country’s division into North and South of Vietnam. Following the failure at Dien Bien Phu War, the Geneva Agreement was signed in 1954. According to the agreement, Vietnam was temporarily divided into two regions with the 17th Parallel as a borderline.
